BC United is happy to announce that Matt Purtell, well-known in the coaching community throughout Beaver County, is joining as a Head Coach. Coach Purtell served as Assistant Coach for the Freedom High School Boys team who played in the WPIAL 2022 playoffs.

Purtell's experience incorporates 12 years in the parochial school leagues, guiding Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School to 11 playoff appearances as well as his time with Freedom High School. Said Purtell, "I always look forward to learning what makes each group of individuals "tick" and helping the players bring their unique gifts and talents to the field to be their very best, as players, individuals and teammates. I look forward to working with two very talented squads in the 2005 Boys and 2011 Boys." Coach Purtell brings his USSF D License experience as well.

Coach Purtell will take on Head Coach responsibilities with BC United's 2005 Boys and 2011 Boys. Director of Soccer Marcus Burrows explained, "Coach Purtell's experience spans age groups and abilities. He has the ability to observe and explain to younger players, but he's also able to quickly and dynamically change in the faster-moving U18 game. He's an excellent addition to our Club."
